The Mother of Dragons, Emilia Clarke, is poised to make her way over to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion.

The Game of Thrones star’s role is being kept under lock and key, of course, because that’s simply how this stuff works. Marvel’s got to tease us a little before they give up the goods. She joins previously confirmed cast members Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Olivia Colman. Oh, Marvel, you certainly know how to cast your big-time presentations, don’t you?

Marvel’s Secret Invasion is expected to follow a group of shape-shifting aliens who have been infiltrating Earth for years. The story is, of course, based on the Marvel Comics event series of the same name that ran from 2008 to 2009. The event featured an array of Marvel’s most popular characters and gave every reader a healthy dose of paranoia to boot. Remember, a Skrull can be anyone, or anywhere. Obviously, Marvel will be telling a version of the story that’s tailored to fit their cinematic universe. It’s not like the X-Men are going to show up or anything. Or will they? What about the Fantastic Four? Shang-Chi? Will Marvel give the Inhumans another go after introducing Ms. Marvel? I have so many questions.

Directors are currently being lined up for the series while Kyle Bradstreet, who worked on the critically acclaimed cyber-thriller series Mr. Robot, will be writing and executing producing the project.

While many know Clarke for her role as Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons on HBO’s Game of Thrones, she’s also appeared in several feature films including Last Christmas, Me Before You, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and Terminator Genisys. The thought of her joining the MCU just feels right, and I can’t wait to learn the nature of her role.

Oh, and one last thing. If it turns out that Clarke is playing Abigail Brand I’m going to lose my sh*t. Good day to you.
