Short and stout, Le Creuset’s round Dutch ovens are pretty darn cute, to begin with, but their latest limited-edition really has us head over heels. The aptly-named Signature Round Dutch L’OVEn just launched yesterday, and it’s one of the sweetest designs we’ve ever seen from Le Creuset. It’s a classic bright white 4.5-qt. Dutch oven with a pretty print of tiny multi-colored hearts dancing around its side and lid. It’s available on Le Creuset’s site as well as at Williams Sonoma, but if you want to pick up one of these adorable Dutch ovens, act fast. Only a limited run was produced, and once they’re gone, they’re gone!
This new design makes the L’OVEn especially great for gifting or adding to your own cookware collection and proudly displaying it on your stovetop — it’s basically decor as well as a practical Dutch oven! In addition to doing great work in the kitchen, it’s also helping to do great work in the wider world. Launched ahead of Pride month which is celebrated in June, Le Creuset’s L’OVEn will support The Trevor Project to ensure that LGBTQ youth have access to the vital support and resources that they need. It’s a win-win!
Since it’s a special edition (and the fact that Le Creuset’s Dutch ovens last forever), we’re also betting that this design will become a collector’s item over time. Like all of Le Creuset’s enameled cast iron Dutch ovens, the L’OVEn is ideal for everything from slow cooking and braising to baking and frying. Its pretty pattern makes it especially great for serving at the table, as well. We also love that this design has a bright white interior, which makes it easier to monitor cooking progress and thoroughly get up every bit of fond when deglazing.
The L’OVEn, including its lid, is oven safe up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit and works well with any type of stovetop, even induction. While technically it is dishwasher safe, we recommend washing it by hand to ensure that its precious enamel coating doesn’t get a single scratch. And also, because doing so gives you extra time to admire the L’OVEn’s sweet design. Given its cute factor and its support for a great cause, the L’OVEn would definitely be a bright and cheerful addition to any kitchen, and a joy to cook with. But again, if you’ve already fallen in love with it, make sure to order one before they’re sold out!
