Α new research shows the tomato juice health benefits and suggests that drinking unsalted tomato juice can lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, two important factors that contribute to cardiovascular disease.

A glass of tomato juice a day not only protects us from cardiovascular disease but helps digest and maintain the glow of the skin.

 The research was published in the Journal of Food Science and Nutrition and its data show that the blood pressure in 94 participants with hypertension dropped significantly after consuming tomato juice.

More specifically, systolic blood pressure decreased from 141.2 to 137 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure averaged from 155 to 149.9 mg / dL. Also, high levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol in 125 participants decreased on average from 155 to 149.9 mg / dL.

According to the researchers, these beneficial effects were similar for both men and women as well as for different age groups. This is a reason why tomato juice should not be missing from your daily diet and here are some more:
