Prairie Vodka recently released a trilogy of flavored vodkas, each of which is infused with a trio of ingredients. The twist? These flavors are sustainably sourced and USDA certified organic. Notably, the vodkas contain no sugar and no artificial sweeteners at all, giving each of them only 75 calories per 1.5 fluid ounce.

Prairie Sustainable Seasons Organic Grapefruit, Hibiscus & Chamomile Flavored Vodka – This hits the nose as a rather weird collection of aromas, with fruit, floral, and herbal notes not wholly in alignment. All of the elements are present, but none really dominates — which is unexpected. Grapefruit peel — perhaps — edges out the other two. The palate has a hint of sweetness driven perhaps by the hibiscus, though on the finish any hint of sweetening is quite mild. That said, none of this really ever gels. Prairie Sustainable Seasons Organic Apple, Pear & Ginger Flavored Vodka – Clean, linen-scented pear notes dominate the nose, to the exclusion of the other purported ingredients. The palate feels rather plain in comparison to the prior sample, a slight vanilla note being the only real digression from a straightforward character of canned pears. Perhaps a mild touch of spice. Prairie Sustainable Seasons Organic Watermelon, Cucumber & Lime Flavored Vodka – Quite harmless, a mild nose of slightly sweet watermelon is dominant, with some cucumber emerging with time in glass. On the palate, the reverse is true: Cucumber is more present up front, followed by a hint of pepper and a more modest watermelon fruitiness. The finish has the slight astringency of the underlying spirit, but on the whole the experience is about as easygoing as it gets. B [BUY IT NOW FROM DRIZLY]
