Adelphi is a well known impartial bottler of different folks’s whiskies. After 100 years as a bottler, the corporate lastly determined to get in on the sport in earnest by constructing its personal distillery and making its personal whisky within the western Highlands of Scotland, working beneath the title of Ardnamurchan.

The primary launch, Ardnamurchan Small Batch, is a little bit of a mutt, a vatting of unpeated and peated single malt distillates aged in a wide range of bourbon Barrels and Spanish and American oak Oloroso and PX sherry casks.

There’s lots to take pleasure in within the advanced combine, the nostril leaning modestly into the peated parts within the vatting whereas displaying loads of fruit, all apple and citrus, barely oily with a touch of tanned leather-based. Candy and evenly smoky on the palate, the whisky evokes notes of honey, extra orange oil, and a few tropical notes — with echoes of coconut because the end builds. The end reprises honey and a touch of smoke, touched with pepper and an unique little bit of lime leaf. Very drinkable stuff.

93.6 proof.
