Review: 21 Seeds Valencia Orange Tequila

21 Seeds is a brand new model of flavored tequila made with all-natural fruit infusions. Out there in three flavors to begin — Valencia Orange, Grapefruit Hibiscus, and Cucumber Jalapeño — the tequila is “cultivated from a proprietary mix of agaves from the lowland and highland areas of Jalisco” and bottled with out the addition of excessive fructose corn syrup. It’s unclear if the bottom tequila is 100% agave; it doesn’t point out both method on the bottle or within the advertising collateral.

The spirits are designed “for Her by Her,” in response to the corporate, and whereas I’m a he/him, I’m giving the Valencia Orange expression a strive anyway. Let’s dig in.

On the nostril: Exceptionally robust orange, tangerine-sweet, with no actual proof of the tequila underpinnings within the combine. Breathe deep and also you get… a touch of lemon, vaguely floral. The palate is sort of candy, with a flood of orange adopted by some vanilla and marshmallow notes. A sprinkle of inexperienced herbs is the one trace that that is tequila, not vodka — or presumably triple sec. If overwhelming orange character from begin to end is what you’re after, nicely, you discovered it.

21 Seeds feels prefer it’s tailored for margaritas (and you’ll skip the orange liqueur) — and little else that I can fathom.

70 proof.
