Review: 2020 La Posta Tinto Red Blend

Just a few weeks in the past, we reviewed a Pizzella Malbec from Laura Catena’s La Posta line, which showcases the flexibility of growers and winemakers round Argentina and offers infrastructure for manufacturing and distribution on a big scale. This time, we’re pouring the road’s Uco Valley pink mix, a composition of 60% Malbec, 25% Bonarda, and 15% Syrah.

As anticipated, huge, beefy pepper and cherry notes from the Malbec dominate on the nostril, with a slight contact of smoke and clove making an look as issues settle. Fairly thick on the palate, with cherry and raspberry doing a lot of the heavy lifting. Delicate traces of baking spice and sharp minerality result in a lingering and dry end. Oak in direction of the top provides dimension and curiosity, however not as a lot as I used to be anticipating from a mix so heavy on Malbec. A stable pink mix that may work properly at upcoming vacation gatherings.
