NABJ Demands Meeting With ESPN, Disney

The Nationwide Affiliation of Black Journalists (NABJ) is requesting a gathering with ESPN and Walt Disney executives after expressing “outrage” over a current New York Instances report that uncovered “a poisonous ESPN tradition that seems to advertise bias.” 

Clips obtained by the The New York Times confirmed reporter Rachel Nichols speaking to LeBron James’ advisor Adam Mendelsohn whereas she was within the NBA bubble final July. The NABJ released a press release on Wednesday afternoon (July 7) calling Nichols’ feedback “disappointing given the continued experiences by Black journalists of white males advancing at ESPN due to their pores and skin tone and never by advantage.”

“ESPN’s response to the matter was much more appalling, because the Instances has documented what seems to be an try by ESPN to brush the matter below the rug till it was not too long ago uncovered in better element,” the NABJ continued of their assertion. “The corporate’s actions might have alienated Taylor and left one other Black worker punished for exposing the matter.”
