Masters of the Universe, Noah Centineo

Over two years ago, it was reported that Noah Centineo had signed on to star in the Masters of the Universe movie, but according to Jeff Sneider over at Collider, Sony Pictures will have to start searching for a new He-Man as Centineo has reportedly excited the movie. A representative for Centineo told Collider that the actor “is no longer attached to that project,” but no reason for his exit was given.

Noah Centineo had been putting in quite a lot of work towards getting into He-Man shape and had gained 30lbs of muscle for the role, but with the pandemic likely playing havoc with the production schedule, it’s not hard to imagine that Centineo couldn’t wait around anymore, especially as he’s currently filming Black Adam alongside Dwayne Johnson and has several other projects on his slate. Now that Centineo appears to be out, who would you like to see step into He-Man’s furry briefs?

He-Man, aka Prince Adam, is the heir to the throne of the planet Eternia. Thanks to his magical Power Sword, Prince Adam is able to transform into He-Man in order to defend his kingdom and Castle Grayskull from the evil sorcerer Skeletor and his band of minions. Adam & Aaron Nee (Band of Robbers) will be helming the film based on a script by Matt Holloway & Art Marcum (Men in Black: International). The franchise last graced the big-screen all the way back in 1987 for Masters of the Universe, which saw Dolph Lundgren (Creed II) playing He-Man and Frank Langella (The Americans) playing Skeletor. The film was a critical and commercial failure at the time, but over the years, has come to be viewed as a cult classic.
