From the early age of 9, April Anderson knew she needed to be a baker and began making treats for her household regularly. As April’s curiosity grew she started exploring extra subtle recipes and began a home-based baking enterprise in 2008. In 2010 April attended Macomb Neighborhood School for Pastry Arts, gaining information on Pastry Strategies, Artisan Breads, French Pastries and Recipe Growth. It was throughout this time that April knew that she needed to open a bakery in Detroit. In September 2013, April together with companion, Michelle Anderson, opened their first bakery in Detroit on the historic Avenue of Vogue. Integrated in 2013, Good Muffins and Bakes’ mission is to supply high quality baked items which are healthful and natural in nature; and to supply baked items in an atmosphere that’s constructive, artistic, instructional and pleasant to staff and the group.
