Scallywag launches whisky-infused chocolates

Scotch model Scallywag has teamed up with a confectionary firm to create a set of whisky-infused candies.

Scallywag has tapped Glasgow-based chocolatier Sugarsnap for its newest collaboration

Forward of World Chocolate Day tomorrow (7 July), the Speyside blended malt whisky producer goals to showcase its positioning as ‘the last word chocolate companion’ by a brand new collaboration with Sugarsnap Artisan Chocolate, a Glasgow-based sweet maker.

To create the chocolate vary, Sugarsnap founder Annette Smith infused Scallywag whisky into ganache, then adorned the candies with the model colors of Scallywag’s three expressions.

Rebecca Fennell, Scallywag model supervisor, mentioned: “It’s been an actual deal with working with Annette at Sugarsnap on this challenge and we’re delighted with the results of our Scallywag-inspired chocolate treasures. Scallywag’s flagship expression is a mix of malts from distilleries together with Mortlach, The Macallan and The Glenrothes. Sitting at 46% ABV, the liquid is matured in ex-oloroso Sherry casks and has notes of darkish chocolate, stewed fruits and spiced vanilla.

The Douglas Laing-owned model additionally makes a 10-year-old expression, and lately debuted its limited-release Chocolate Version bottling.

To coincide with the collaboration’s launch, Scallywag has created a month-long social media marketing campaign that includes a giveaway of the candies and a bottle of Scallywag Chocolate Version. Shoppers can enter the competitors by Scallywag’s Instagram (@scallywagwhisky).
