Past an exhibition, impressed by the graphic, playful furnishings of Memphis, Anthony Vaccarello has created an unique capsule for Saint Laurent

As a part of the Saint Laurent Rive Droite mission, the home’s artistic director Anthony Vaccarello is working with Italian design group Memphis, which turns 40 this 12 months. To have a good time the tie-up, Vaccarello is presenting an exhibition of items by Memphis and its designers – together with the RING mattress designed by Masanori Umeda, the CARLTON room divider by Ettore Sottsass, and RIVIERA chairs designed by Michele de Lucchi in 1981.

Impressed by the graphic, playful and vibrant furnishings synonymous with Memphis, Vaccarello (who, based mostly on his current collections, appears to have a newfound fondness for color) has additionally created for Saint Laurent an unique capsule of two multi-coloured checkerboard hoodies, two attire, one shirt and two pairs of sneakers. The particular capsule crossbreeds Saint Laurent’s traditional items and the electrical spirit of Memphis.

The exhibition will happen till June 23 in each Saint Laurent Rive Droite shops in Paris and Los Angeles, along with a number of homeware items, ceramic objects and textile equipment. A number of books representing the historical past and works of Memphis can even be current in shops.
