Review: The Pathfinder Hemp and Root

The Pathfinder Hemp and Root is a novel little oddity: fermented from hemp after which distilled, the non-alcoholic spirit is then infused with a wide range of botanicals, together with wormwood, angelica root, ginger, sage, juniper, saffron, orange peel, and Douglas fir. Notice that although it’s constituted of hemp, there’s no THC within the product.

The Pathfinder presents itself most intently to an amaro, bittersweet with the wormwood notes on the forefront of the expertise on the clove- and cinnamon-laden nostril. Notes of tea leaf emerge with some air time. Woodsy and a bit fruity, the palate continues the amaro theme, providing a rhubarb-and-raisin notice that pairs nicely with some citrus, a gingerbread punch, and a of entirety of piney juniper. Complicated however balanced, the spirit culminates with a little bit of licorice and a few brown sugar. I by no means discovered any hemp-like terpenes within the expertise, however so far as cocktailing goes, that’s positive with me.

Have been I served this blind, I’d have assumed this was a brand new amaro, full with alcohol that was successfully masked by some sweetness. That it’s a zero abv providing is a large shock. In a world of no-alcohol spirits which might be largely duds, The Pathfinder vastly impresses.
