If you’re looking to upgrade your home bar, remember that it’s not just about the bottles on the shelves. A carefully curated selection of spirits and wine deserves a comfortable place to tuck in for the evening. Plus, if you’re like me, you have an unreasonable number of cocktail and tasting glasses scattered throughout the kitchen, not to mention all the necessary bottle openers, wine keys, paring knives, mixing glasses, etc. Sometimes it feels like drinking well takes an entire Bed Bath & Beyond section. But if you’re looking for a place to store all of that stuff while also adding to the visual appeal of your kitchen or living room, you really should consider the Corridor Bar by BDI.

First things first, this may be one of the sexiest looking bar units out there. The classic mid-century styling is clean yet eye catching. It’s constructed of wood and wood veneer and available in three beautiful finishes (Charcoal Stained Ash, Natural Walnut, and Chocolate Stained Walnut). The micro-etched, black glass top adds elegance but also functionality as a scratch-resistant cocktailing surface that also happens to be easy to clean.

It’s not a small piece of furniture, but the dimensions work well in a variety of spaces. The slatted doors give it a streamlined feel while also teasing your guests with a slim peek at your bottle collection. And the Corridor can hold a lot of bottles. The double-louvered doors open a full 180 degrees to reveal three shelves on each door perfect for narrower bottles or glassware, while three deep, adjustable shelves on the interior of the cabinet can conceal anything from ice buckets to that handle of vodka you just can’t seem to get rid of. There’s horizontal storage for twelve bottles of wine and a spacious, lined storage drawer perfect for hiding all of those jiggers and shot glasses you’ve collected over the years.

I personally own a Corridor Bar now (see right), but I was just like most home bartenders before then with bottles on every bookshelf and cocktail paraphernalia scattered all over the kitchen. Now, every time I close it up after a good night of cocktail making, I am honestly amazed at how that vast, sprawling bar collection somehow hides neatly inside one piece of beautiful furniture. You heard it here, folks. Worth every penny.
