Beam Suntory-owned Laphroaig has unveiled its 2021 Cáirdeas bottling, a whisky completed in a Pedro Ximénez cask.

The 58.9% ABV bottling will probably be in the stores from 1 July

The annual launch of the collection, created by Laphroaig distillery supervisor John Campbell, has been created to rejoice the ‘buddies of Laphroaig’.

The 2021 Cáirdeas version is triple matured in American oak ex-Bourbon barrels, adopted by quarter casks and at last in European oak hogsheads containing PX sherry.

The mix creates a ‘advanced expression filled with character’, bottled at cask power to make sure ‘wealthy and complicated flavours’.

It’s mentioned to have smoky aromas of grilled bacon, in addition to manuka honey and oak spices.

Tasting notes are nutty, mixed with a mix of toffee and cinnamon on the nostril. The end is described as scorching, spicy and salty.

The 58.9% ABV bottling will probably be in the stores from 1 July, on Laphroaig.com and in choose US shops, for an RRP of £89.90 (US$127) per 700ml bottle.
