Movie and culinary fanatics are mourning the lack of a house prepare dinner who tried to grasp the artwork of French cooking.
Julie Powell, the meals blogger performed by Amy Adams within the movie Julie & Julia, died at age 49 in her New York residence Oct. 26, per The New York Times. In accordance with her husband, Eric Powell, Julie’s explanation for demise was cardiac arrest.
Her passing comes about 20 years after Julie modified the trajectory of her life—and arguably the trajectory of meals running a blog—again in 2002 when she determined to set off on a mission to prepare dinner all 524 recipes listed in Julia Baby‘s e book Mastering the Artwork of French Cooking, Quantity 1. Julie documented this experiment in her weblog “The Julie/Julia Undertaking”—however that was only the start.
Julie finally turned her weblog into the e book Julie & Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Condo Kitchen, which was printed in 2005. And in 2009, the e book was tailored into the film Julie & Julia, a movie written and directed by Nora Ephron which co-starred Meryl Streep as Julia. The film intertwined the tales of each Julie’s and Julia’s culinary expertise.
