This is not folklore: Joe Alwyn is a Grammy winner.

Whereas the British star is most identified for his appearing roles in The Favourite and the upcoming collection Conversations With Friends, he grew to become knowledgeable songwriter throughout lockdown, collaborating along with his longtime girlfriend Taylor Swift on her albums folklore and evermore. And when folklore gained Album of the Yr at the 2020 Grammys, Alwyn—who co-wrote and co-produced songs “betty” and “exile” below the pseudonym William Bowery—scored a trophy.

“That was a surreal bonus of lockdown,” he instructed The Guardian in a brand new interview. “That is an understatement.”

As Alwyn defined to the outlet, he and Swift hadn’t deliberate on working collectively, it happened organically. “It wasn’t like, ‘It is 5 o’clock, it is time to try to write a tune collectively,'” he shared. “It happened from messing round on a piano, and singing badly, then being overheard, and being, like, ‘Let’s examine what occurs if we get to the top of it collectively.'”
