Whisky specialist Gordon & MacPhail’s 80-year-old expression, claimed to be the oldest single malt Scotch ever bottled, is now accessible for buy.

The uncommon whisky hails from The Glenlivet Distillery, drawn from a single cask that was laid down in 1940 beneath the watch of George and John Urquhart, family members that based Gordon & MacPhail.

Decanter #1 will go beneath the hammer at Sotheby’s Hong Kong on 7 October, full with a framed cask finish from the unique barrel and a lithograph of Adjaye’s design. Proceeds from the public sale shall be donated to Scottish charity Bushes for Life, which goals to rewild the Caledonian forest.
